The Bogardus Plaza lienup presents an afternoon with:
Flor de Massapê
12:00-3:00pm
Flor de Massapê is a musical duo formed by Dora Flor and Davi Massapê. Rooted in Brazilian music, their sound transforms and evolves with every new guest who joins a performance. At Bogardus Plaza, Flor de Massapê will transform the city square into a dance party through the Brazilian music genre Forró. Forró is rich, alive, and meant to be shared in community, and can be described as a kind of Brazilian folk music. Built around the accordion, percussion, and voice, it can be enjoyed in many ways, and one of the best is through dancing. This event invites every spectator to experience it however feels right to them, because this kind of music doesn’t just make you move, it makes you feel alive.
