Promote Your Concert
Dear Music Makers and Hosts,
Thank you for participating in the 19th Annual Make Music New York on Saturday June 21st, 2025. Now is the time to start promoting your performance!
Promotion Tips:
1) Take a moment to review your Performer and/or Venue profile to make sure that it is accurate and fully completed. We post your confirmed performance on the 2025 Program Guide page of this website using the information that you input into your Performer or Venue profile. Our publicity team and media partners also rely on this same information.
2) Send out e-mails and social media blasts to your network of family, friends and music lovers. On any plugs and photos that you send out, both before and during your performance, be sure to link up with Make Music New York’s social media platforms and to use the tag #makemusicny when you send your content. The easiest way to do this is to utiize the social media wallpaper that we have already created for you. Just open the .png file below and take a screenshot.

3) Print out a PDF poster (below!), then type in your performance Who, Where & When details and print it out (or print it out first and write your details in). If you are a host Venue, hang the poster up in a highly visible spot. If you are a Performer, check with your host Venue to see if they have the ability to display your performance poster in the weeks leading up to your concert, and of course on June 21st itself. This works best when your Venue fronts a shop, restaurant, music school, library, etc. But please do not hang posters in public parks prior to your performance. Be sure to bring additional printed posters with you on the day of your performance to display. (And do make sure to clean up after yourself.)
4) After your performance, please take a quick moment to send us an email at info@makemusicny.org to share:
- Your favorite photos of the concert.
- Your best estimate as to how many fellow New Yorkers saw and enjoyed your set.
- Any stories from your performance and/or ideas on how to improve future Make Music New York festivals.
5) Have Fun! You are part of a very special day that celebrates music, NYC musicians and the comeback our amazing city is embarking upon. Make the most of it. Make new fans. Make friends. And most importantly, Make Music!

Park and Sound Permits
If you are performing from a city-owned park, you will receive via email a Parks permit and instructions. To make sure that your performance runs smoothly, print out a hard copy of the permit and bring it with you to your performance in case a Parks employee or other city official asks you if you have permission to perform within the park.
If you confirmed a performance that will use amplified sound before our dealdine of June 1st, you will receive a NYPD sound permit and instructions via email. To make sure your performance runs smoothly, print out a hard copy of the permit and have it with you in case a police officer or other city official asks you if you have permission to perform with amplification. The maximum sound level allowed is 85dB. Be reasonable and respectful of your fellow New Yorkers at all times!
- If you have additional questions or need assistance, email us at info@makemusicny.org. Include the topic of your inquiry in the subject line (i.e. “missing permit”).
