Can I use my login credentials from last season to sign up for this year’s Make Music New York?
Yes you can! If you created a profile with us last season, you should be able to log in using the same user name and password. If you experience difficulties logging into the profile you created in 2024, contact us at info@makemusicny.org.
The Sign Up link is not working for me!
First, try clearing your cache, as your browser may be trying to send you to a URL from a previous season by mistake. If that doesn’t work, please try logging onto ny.makemusicday.org using a different browser. If you are still experiencing difficulties, contact us at info@makemusicny.org.
Who can participate as a performing musician?
Anyone and everyone throughout the five boroughs of NYC is welcomed and encouraged to create a Performer profile and to perform as part of the Make Music New York celebrations on June 21st: New Yorkers of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, music styles, instruments and skill levels – from beginner to student to professional.
If you are signing up with us for the first time, we are pleased to have you join us! As you create your Performer profile, be as complete as possible. If you include a bio, music samples and social media tags, it will make it easier for interested host Venues to learn all about you and your music and will encourage them to send you an invitation to play a concert from their spot. But you have final control of your own destiny. After your profile has been set up, you can search for participating host Venues and send them requests to play, and you can work out additional concert needs and details directly with them through the matchmaking platform.
Creating your profile is pretty intuitive and within minutes, you will have access to the Make Music New York database to help you find your perfect match. But if you have questions or require special assistance, please contact us at info@makemusicny.org.
If you participated in a recent Make Music New York festival, log into the profile you previously created and make sure that it is up to date.
Your responsibility as a Performer. Just as we reach out to Performers to take part in the festival, we reach out to Venues across NYC to host your Performance. Once your Performance is confirmed, remember that your Venue is counting on you to arrive on time for your allotted concert set! Do stay in touch with your Venue contact on June 21st if you are running late. And please take some photos or short video clips of your performance to share with us as well.
Who can participate as a host venue?
Anyone and everyone throughout the five boroughs of NYC is welcomed and encouraged to host musicians from their outdoor space: sidewalks fronting local businesses like shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and music venues; museums, libraries and other cultural institutions; community gardens; even your own porch, stoop, driveway or lawn. Please do not, however, create a Venue profile for a public park or DOT plaza on your own initiative, as such spaces require special permits that must be secured directly by us. When you do see a public park or plaza Venue profile on the matchmaking database, it was created by us and is available for your Performance as outlined. If you do not see an existing profile for your preferred park or DOT plaza, please contact us at info@makemusicny.org and we will do our best to secure it for you!
Who puts this all together?
Make Music New York is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission celebrates the musician in all of us, connects New Yorkers to their communities and with each other, brings bold new artistic creations to life, unites diverse communities in a spirit of celebration and energizes the shared social spaces that make NYC a cultural capital. Visit our About Us page to learn more!
How else can I get involved in the festival?
Consider becoming a volunteer to help us with our outreach, marketing and production efforts. If interested, drop us a line at info@makemusicny.org.
