Among our most popular long standing traditions, Make Music New York again teams up with the NYC Guitar School to present a full afternoon of events for guitar players of all ages, skill levels and music styles that includes a Massive Guitar Jam!
SCHEDULE:
3:00-4:00 Tutorials and open small group jams.
4:00 Gather on the steps of Union Square South Plaza for a mass play- and sing-along. HAVE FUN!
4:30 Hang out and enjoy live music from awesome local bands curated by the NYC Guitar School.
TO JOIN & PREPARE:

ON MAKE MUSIC DAY SUNDAY, JUNE 21st:
1) Bring your guitar (or uke or any other instrument really!) Electric guitarists and bassists are welcome to bring battery powered amps, but no power supply is available. Also bring water, sunscreen, a hat or whatever it takes to be comfy. And keep in mind that Union Square is a crowded urban park—we recommend gig bags with name tags to avoid confusion.
2)Check in at the welcome table near the steps at Union Square Park South Plaza to pick up song charts and enter a drawing for prizes like three months of free NYC Guitar School classes, T-shirts, and more.
3) Starting at 3:00pm, practice with our instructors! There will be separate break out groups for each of the songs plus free one-on-one lessons for absolute beginners.
4) Starting at 4:00pm, we will play along EN MASSE! There is room for about 120 people to sit on the steps, and you can also bring your own chair or guitar strap to play standing up.
