Sissy Sloan is a vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer blending jazz roots with trip-hop, folk, and dream pop. Originally from greater Philadelphia, she moved to New York in 2003 to study vocal jazz at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, earning a BFA in performance. A longtime collaborator with Ilhan Ersahin’s Wax Poetic, she’s performed internationally at venues like Babylon Istanbul, Silencio Paris, SESC Pompéia (Sao Paulo), and Notting Hill Arts Club in London. Whether fronting a full band or delivering stripped-back vocals over ambient textures, her artistry invites deep listening, offering ethereal sets grounded in raw emotion and lyrical clarity. Her smoldering, evocative voice—called “confident and nuanced” and “destined for her own niche in music history”—continues to captivate in recent solo sets at Zebulon Los Angeles, Nublu, and The Ned.
