The First Day of Summer = Make Music New York on 101st Street!

The season is heating up — and so is the street! Join us this Saturday, June 21, on the Open Street at 101st Street (just west of Lexington Avenue) for a full afternoon of family fun, creativity, and music-making to celebrate the first day of summer with Make Music New York!

Festivities start at 12 PM with:

  • Street games & splash-worthy hydrant fun

  • Yarn art & jewelry-making

  • The grand seasonal opening of our Street Lab mobile library

Then at 5 PM, get ready to dance! We're partnering with The National Jazz Museum in Harlem to host a Make Music NY concert featuring the electrifying People of the Earth (@poemusicnyc), bringing salsa, timba, and global grooves to the block. It’s family-friendly and free — just bring your dancing shoes!

Fuel your day with delicious eats from our incredible small businesses nearby, including:
Bar Goyana • Burritos y Mas • Cafe D’Anvers • Chu Ros Thai NYC • Dalila’s Tacos • Taqueria El Tepeyac • Frenchy Coffee NYC • Girasole Trattoria • Healthy Frenchy • Lloyd’s Carrot Cake • Plue Thai • Rosenthal Wine RWM Selections • Sugar Hill Creamery
