These amazing park locations are open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register at makemusicny.org/participate so you can spend Thursday, June 21st making music in the park!

Note that access to electricity in parks is not provided, so be prepared to perform “unplugged” or to bring your own power source.

If you’re a musician who needs a space that provides electricity, a sidewalk location could be a better choice. Hundreds of sidewalks outside of businesses and libraries are going online in the next week for you to choose. You can also create your own location on nearly any sidewalk you’d like, once you register — email ethan@makemusicny.org if you have questions.

Once again, registration ends April 21st.

If you’re a musician looking for a place to play — or if you have a garden, restaurant, block party, sidewalk, or other outdoor space and want musicians — you can sign up, contact possible matches, and find what you’re looking for.

Musicians can also register their own spaces, and locations can register their own artists. It’s easy and it’s free. Once you’re matched up, Make Music New York organizers will confirm the arrangements and get you the permits you’ll need. Everything is explained when you sign up, or you can check out our FAQ.

All MMNY 2012 registration will go through our website, though neighborhood organizers will be available to help you navigate the process. Registration will close on April 21st. Special thanks to Time Out New York and programmer Colin Kennedy for developing our registration process this year.

And once again this year, thanks to Sing For Hope’s remarkable initiative, 18 of these parks will have tuned upright pianos on June 21st, just sitting there, waiting for you to play. Piano locations are listed on the website, and priority will be given to groups who can make good use of them. (Many more Sing For Hope piano locations are on the way!)

Note that access to electricity in parks is not guaranteed, so be prepared to perform “unplugged” or to bring your own power source.

If you’re a musician who needs a space that provides electricity, a sidewalk location could be a better choice. Dozens of sidewalks, over 50 spots outside of libraries, and many more pianos are going online in the next few days for you to choose. You can also create your own location on nearly any sidewalk you’d like — email jackson@makemusicny.org for details.

Once again, registration ends April 21st.

Remember: It’s not enough just to register — you need to use the matchmaking website to find a space for your music, or music for your space. If you’re having trouble, read our article about How To Use The MMNY Website.

And if you’re a musician who doesn’t yet have a location figured out, we highly recommend that you create your own — make arrangements off-line with a sidewalk location you already know and love (such as outside your own building), click “Create Your Performance” on the website, and we will secure the permits.

If you’re a musician looking for a place to play — or if you have a garden, block party, sidewalk, or other outdoor space and want musicians — you can sign up, get in touch with possible matches, and find what you’re looking for. (Think of it as an internet dating site to create concerts.)

If you have your concert plans figured out already, with a musician and location already matched up, that’s great, too! Sign up on the same site to take part in MMNY 2010 — the website will explain how.

Once you’re matched up, our team of Make Music New York organizers will get in touch to confirm the arrangements and get you the permits you’ll need.

All sign-ups for MMNY 2010 will go through this website, though neighborhood organizers will be available to help you, and other information will still be available at www.makemusicny.org.
